Founded in Glasgow by Freya Fullarton, the gallery is named after her late father Robert. It grew out of an earlier, collective project: Love Unlimited (2016 — 2019). Fullarton also co-founded and directed Bonjour— a Queer bar/club operating as a profit sharing, worker co-op on Glasgow’s Saltmarket (2020 — 2023).
Between 2022 — 2023 exhibitions took place in within a tenement flat in Glasgow. Bringing together conventional ideas of the ‘gallery’ in a less formal, domestic space to explore the conceptual potential within this framework. More widely the gallery is interested in ideas of hybridity, intersectionality and cultural discourse where it meets lived experiences. The programme comes from a perspective rooted in Queerness; with the artistic practices of queer people, people of colour and women at it’s core.
A commissioned text and offsite club night accompany each exhibition- extending the possibilities for collaboration beyond the visual arts. And acknowledging the context that more accurately reflects our expanded community; including artists, writers, DJs, designers, illustrators, and so on.
